A Catalan architect and the most popular representative of Modernism, Antoni Gaudi used the land of Barcelona to showcase his numerous masterpieces. In fact, almost everywhere you look, you can see the architectural wonders he had contributed. Here are some of them that you must certainly visit:
Sagrada Familia
This is said to be his magnum opus, which he dedicated forty years of his life to. The construction of this breathtaking edifice started 1882, but has not been completed even until the present times. Despite that, it has been the number one tourist attraction in the city, which attracts millions. This is definitely a sight that you need to see, especially if you want a more religious kind of tour.
Casa Mila
Popularly known as The Quarry, this is another of Guadi's masterpieces, which was a private project. The original design for this man-made wonder was not perfectly followed since it violated a lot of building codes. This was abandoned for years, but began to draw travellers since the early 1980's up to the present.
Others call this building “The House of Bones”, which is also the architect's work of art that is most definitely worth visiting. The structure features oval-shaped windows, arched roof and irregular shapes of decorations. This is one of his works that depicted his desire to do away with straight lines. What makes this architectural piece magnificent is its dragon-back roof with a cross and a turret at the end.
